Memorandom of Understanding between National Youth Corps (NYC) and Swiss Management Academy (SHMA) was signed by HE Oliver Praz Deputy Embassador- Embassy of Switzerland to Sri Lanka and the Moldives and Brigadier Sujeewa Rathnayake Director NYC on 17 October 2023 at the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, under the patronage of the Hon.Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs Roshan Ranasinghe MP.
Trainees of NYC will get theoritical and practical training in the Hotel field and offered an internationally recognised certification under this programme in view of directing them for job opportunities in local and foreign job market.
Under the first phase, the training programme comprising with Hotel Management subject along with 10 subject related componants, will commence at Senkadagala and Naila NYC training centres.
The training programme will continue till 2025 December. Mr.Rolf Blaster Managing Director and CEO Baurs and SHMA, Ms Pavithra Samarasinghe Director Finance and Compliance Baurs and SHMA, Ms Daniela Munasinghe GM DHMA, Ms Sureeka Fernando Manager SHMA, Ms.Cheryl Arndt Project Manager Skill for Sustainable Growth (SSG), Ms Nicola Felthman Assistant Manager Development SHMA represented the Swiss Hotel Management Academy (Pvt) Ltd while Mr.Nilantha Ekanayake Chairman NYC, Brigadier Sujeewa Rathnayake Director NYC,Additional Directors of NYC along with some dignitaries were present on the occasion.
