The “Y-Art” program, aimed at enhancing the artistic and creative skills of national youth corps members and fostering successful entrepreneurs, was successfully held from October 28 to 30 at the Diyatha Uyana premises in Battaramulla.
Youth Cadets with an interest and enthusiasm for art and creativity, from youth training centers established across the island, participated in this event. The program included various artistic disciplines such as live environmental sketching, fabric painting, paper craft creation, beadwork design, graphic drawing, weaving, tile art, artificial flower arrangements, handicraft production, and pottery making.
A panel of expert advisors from the National Crafts Council provided valuable guidance and support throughout the program.
The closing ceremony and certificate distribution event were held on October 30, under the leadership of Mr. Sudheer Jayarathna, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Women, Child ,Youth Affairs and Sports, and was attended by all the participants. During the ceremony, all the participating youth soldiers were recognized for their efforts. The event also saw the participation of Brigadier Sujeewa Rathnayake, Director of the National Youth Corps, as well as additional directors, assistant directors, provincial directors, heads of government agencies, headquarters officers, center heads, and advisors.
