The launch ceremony of the “Y Rhythm 2024” reality program, implemented under the full guidance of National Youth Corps Director Brigadier Sujeewa Rathnayake USP psc IG, was held on 14th August at the headquarters auditorium in a vibrant manner.
The event was enriched by the performances of youth cadets from the Yakkala School of Aesthetics and included participation from the National Youth Corps, Additional Director (Training and Development) Saman Kulasuriya, Deputy Directors, headquarters officials and trainees.

It is crucial for society to embrace economic, political and social awareness, as well as aesthetic thought and appreciation.
The National Youth Corps, a state institution that diligently fulfills its responsibilities, aims to address the country’s ongoing challenges while empowering the youth. “Y Rhythm 2024” initiated under the vision of the National Youth Corps Director, is yet another creative endeavor that recognizes the talents of young singers in the corps. The program aims to provide recognition to singing talents across the country through a network of centers, with a primary goal of promoting social engagement.
The expectation is to select skilled youth cadets from the National Youth Corps training programs and elevate them to the national level through provincial competitions. Currently, the first phase of “Y Rhythm 2024” has concluded, and the selected contestants will be presented for the next competition stages under a panel of experienced judges.
Y Rhythm 2024″ is set to provide a platform for the youth of the country to showcase their singing abilities, helping them realize their dreams in a new dimension. This initiative aims to create an aesthetic nation free from ethnic, religious, and class distinctions, fostering discipline, leadership, and creativity within the National Youth Corps.
