National Youth Corps organized an inter-provincial sports festival to enhance the sporting skills of the youth cadets. This event took place on July 23 and 24, 2024, at the Youth Corps training center in Divulapitiya, with participation from 58 youth cadets from training centers across 9 provinces.
During the festival, awards and sports kits were presented to the winners. The distribution ceremony was conducted under the leadership of Brigadier Sujeewa Rathnayake USP psc IG, the Director National Youth Corps.
National Youth Corps Inter-Provincial Sports Festival featured both boys’ and girls’ sports in air rifle shooting, archery, volleyball, netball, and cricket. Overall, the Western Province won the boys’ championship, while the North Western and Sabaragamuwa Provinces won the girls’ title.
Attorney Nishantha Pushpakumara, Additional Director (Administration and Finance), and Saman Kulasuriya, Additional Director (Training and Development), along with provincial directors, center heads, advisers, officials, and young cadets were among the prominent attendees at this event.
