North and East Co- Existence programme implemented by the National Youth Corps in view of developing the cultural inter- relations and ethnic harmony among the communities ended successfully. The programme also aimed at diminishing miscommunication within the hearts of all and to build mutual understanding of all youth.
Youth who arrived from north and east were warmly welcome by the southern cadets and had arranged various events to mingle with each other as comrades.
Commencing the programme, southern traditional tea table laid with sweetmeats organized by the cadets from south for the northern youth took the pride of place at Divulapitiya National Youth Corps Training centre.
On the second day they visited to the President Secretariat office, President Official Residence, Central Bank, Lotus Tower, Viharamahadevi Park and some important places in Colombo and its suburbs. Further, they had an opportunity to attend for an interaction session at the President Secretariat office which was chaired by HE the president Hon. Ranil Wickramasinghe and Mr. Sagala Rathnayake Chief of Staff of the presidential Secretariat.
On the last day, Cadets visited the Attanagalla Raja Maha Viharaya and Gampaha Botanical Garden. Mutual volleyball and cricket matches were played by the cadets in the evening and the programme ended with a camp fire and a cultural show at night.

Palitha Mendis, Col. Amil Liyanage, Officers in Charge, NYC instructors and cadets participated in the programme.
